Part 2

So I know I haven't blogged since Sept...but we've been a little busy. I'm 36 weeks pregs today and we can't wait for our little girl to arrive. This will be a brief update on what we have been up to. We traveled to Alabama during Thanksgiving and stayed ten days. Our first stop was Cullman to see "Nana" and "Grandpa". This picture is of Gavin playing on an old caboose at the train station. Gavin and Emma playing. Poor Gavin had a busted lip from falling off his mattress. He is not used to sleeping without rails all around him!

Gavin's first trip to the dentist! Jason's good friend from high school is a dentist in Cullman and we decided to take Gav to have his teeth checked out. He is practicing saying "AAAHHH" in this picture.

He did such a good job!! He was so excited and he still can't stop talking about Dr. Joel!

We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family in Opelika and headed home to fall back into our routine...or so we thought.

During Thanksgiving I started to feel a little funny. I was experiencing a little back pain but attributed it to this baby growing and kicking all over the place. Jason left for Orlando on Monday and on Tuesday my pain was so bad I called him and told him to rush home so he could take me to the ER. Luckily my wonderful neighbor, Pat, was home and watched Gavin for us.

When we arrived I was admitted into Labor and Delivery and my doctor said I probably had a kidney stone. He wanted me to stay overnight so they could moniter the baby and keep me comfortable. The first night I spent in the hospital was the worst because my pain was causing way too many contractions. I had to get shots throughout the night to stop labor. Ouch. I also had to wear a baby moniter the entire time I was there to make sure the baby was ok. This involves having two large moniters velcroed around your belly. My mom left Opelika immediately and drove down to take care of Gavin. So for the next three days they pumped me full of IV fluids and pain meds .

Two renal ultrasounds never showed a kidney stone and my pain was getting worse. Finally, on Friday the urologist did surgery to see what he could find. I had one small stone which was stuck and a "corkscrewed" ureter (connects your kidney to your bladder) which was causing my kidney to swell severely. My twisted ureter is courtesy of this pregnancy and more than likely so is the stone. So, he inserted a stent and I have been really uncomfortable ever since! We were at the hospital Tuesday through Saturday. However, I am thankful the horrible pain in my back is gone. I feel for anyone who has ever experienced a kidney stone. It. Was. Awful.

My mom stayed the week I was in the hospital and the next week Jason's parents drove down and helped out with Gavin because Jason had a big meeting in Las Vegas.

Ok, long story over. Fast forward a few weeks to Christmas! This sweet boy had the time of his life opening gifts!

My family came and spent Christmas weekend with us and we had a great time. My mom came almost a week early to help again because I was still in a lot of pain. Now we are just waiting for baby Elsie to arrive and give me some relief!! I think Gavin is excited about being a big brother. I'll try to keep this blog updated a little more often!

Just a quick update while my little Gav is hopefully enjoying his first day of preschool!

He loves his new backpack (because there is choo choo on it).

And in case you don't know...we're having a girl!

I hoping to have a good report from Gav about school. I'm sure he is having fun.

Jason and I went to the US Open this weekend in New York. I'll post pictures from that later!

Who wants lemonade?

Today I had my 14 week appt. and everything looks great. My belly is as big as I was 20 weeks preggo with Gavin. Ew.
I usually leave Gav with a friend when I go to the doctor because it's just easier to be by myself and avoid maneuvering his stroller through the waiting room, bathroom, nurses station and then the tiny patient rooms. But today I brought him with me because my appointment was so early in the morning.

Not so random side note: this is a cup of lemonade. Or as Gavin calls it "mlyummlyum" or something like that. He LOVES lemonade. I only let him have it if we are outside and he is being good. He knows that when he gets lemonade it is a very special treat.

Well, when you are pregnant you have to pee in cup for every appointment. So of course I have to take the boy with me to the bathroom. When I'm finished I set the clear cup of urine on the counter so I can wash my hands. Gav starts SCREAMING "lemonade" in his language and lunging for the pee cup. I say, "No, honey, that is not lemonade. Remember? Mommy just went pee pee in that cup. We do not drink it." Luckily he was not in arm's reach. :) Gross.

I was laughing pretty hard. It took him a while to get over it.

In case you were wondering...it is VERY hot in Florida. So we spend our days at the beach or the pool or hanging out inside playing with all of our new birthday toys. Please ignore my "mom suit".

Baby number 2 is on the way! We are due January 27th so I am 3 months along. I've been extremely tired and nauseous but have felt much better this past week. I'm not so sure Gavin really understands what is going on but he certainly will soon. We are thrilled!

Last weekend I took my annual trip with my high school buddies to Chicago! One of my friend's, Amy, lives there and she showed us around town from a local's point of view. We had a great time seeing the city, visiting festivals and eating out.

A few weeks after Gavin's birthday we went to Opelika for over a week! I think that is the longest Gav has been away from home. He decided that the pack in play was not the place to sleep so we experimented with sleeping on a twin mattress. He is still in his crib at home and I hope he stays in it until he's 5! Just kidding...but getting this 2 year old to sleep in an actual bed is dang close to impossible. Any suggestions are welcome.
Anywho, Gavin had the time of his life playing with my buff brother in this cooler (Yes, that is Will). Who needs a pool?

He had such a blast at Gigi and Pop's house that maybe he should spend a week or two there by himself next summer!

Also during the trip to Alabama, I was honored to be a bridesmaid in April's (friend from college) wedding. What a beautiful bride! It was a fun weekend and my parents kept Gavin alone Friday night.

Birthday Boy

Oh this poor neglected blog... I will attempt to catch you up on what is going on in the Farley household. First, Gavin is 2! His birthday was June 6th and we had a small birthday party at our community pool. Both sets of grandparents came along with Aunt Mary Lou, Aunt Leann and Uncle Larry. Thanks everyone for driving down! Gavin really enjoyed his cake and presents. All of his little friends came to the party and everyone BUT the birthday boy had fun swimming in the pool. Gavin spent the entire party feeding the fish in the pond and playing with ice in the cooler. It was his party, right?

He was so excited about his train cake!

We had "train hats", bandanas and train whistles as party favors. Pop really liked the hats! :)
The boy got a bubble machine from Gigi (my mom) and we have to turn it on every single time we step outside.

Egg Hunt

Today was our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Gavin was very excited and serious about finding some eggs. He couldn't wait to get to the park with his Easter basket (this was my basket when I was a kid!).

Valentine's Day was a few days ago but I thought you should know about my big date with my hubby. First of all, my parents came to visit and kept Gavin OVERNIGHT!!! I know it doesn't sound like a big deal...but I have never left Gav before for an entire night. Of course he did great and my folks said they had lots of fun. Thanks, Grandma and Pop! It almost seemed too easy. I'm ready for another night away!!!
Anywho, my surprise for Jason was a tour of the Anheuser Busch brewery. I think there are only four or five breweries in the US that provide tours and Jacksonville is one of them. It was pretty cool...we were able to see how and where the beer is brewed and bottled. The pics are kind of backwards. At the end of the tour we went into the 36 degree room where the finishing tanks are and sampled the beer before it is bottled and pasteurized. It tasted pretty dang good if you like beer.

We had to wear this hat along with ear plugs and safety goggles. This is the room where they keep the hops...kind of stinky.

So, if you are ever in Jacksonville and have a free afternoon I would recommend touring the plant.

After the tour, we went to eat at a nice restaurant called Orsay, went to McDonald's for a fancy dessert (ha!), and then stayed at the Hyatt Regency hotel downtown on the river. Needless to say it was a much needed getaway for us. Yay!

Farley Family Fun

How cute is this munchkin? Notice the orange candle next to baby Gav... Lately he is obsessed with smelling candles. If he spots one in the house we have to run up to the candle and stick our nose as close as possible and sniff with force and say "mmmmm, smells sooooo good".

We were stuck at home this morning so we decided to play with some home-made slime. A little cornstarch and water along with a plastic table cloth with entertain a tot for at least 45 minutes.

Licking peanut butter from a spoon and sliding Cheerios back and forth across the table are also activities we enjoy. More pics later.

So, I have not updated in a while... I don't even know where to start. December was busy. We all three got sick during Christmas at Jason's parents' house in Cullman. We missed all the family "get togethers" on both sides. Sorry, everyone!!! I didn't take any pictures during Christmas for this reason. Jason had two weeks of much needed vacation and we so enjoyed having him home for longer than a weekend!
Because this bloggy is for Gav, I'll let you know what he has been up to. His days are full of fun activities! Here is a typical day for the King Farley.
Tumbles class in the morning, then ma-ma has coffee with friends while Gavin runs circles aroung me screaming, then go home and eat lunch, play outside, nap, snack, walk to park and play, dinner, play outside, bath, books, bed. What a hard life for a 19 month old.
He is talking quite a bit. The only problem is I am the only one who can understand him. Let me translate for you.
Ba ba - Water
Roros - Cheerios
Tsesis - Raisins
Zoos - Shoes
Tuh tuh - Truck
Eh - Egg
Muh - Moon
Hotah - Hot

It's been a while. Sorry! Since my last post Jason was promoted to District Manager of North Florida! I am extremely proud of him and he is doing a wonderful job. The only downside for us is that he travels A LOT now. So that is one reason I have not had time to update this thing...

I will try to fill you in (with pictures) on what has been going on here in FL since October.

The pumpkin patch was a hit. Gavin loved all the pumpkins.

Gavin was a lion for Halloween! He was too cute in this outfit. It was so hot here he didn't last long in the costume.Gavin and Noah, the ninja trick-or-treating!Noah, Ashley and Gavin playing in their costumes.

Labor Day Weekend

This weekend my parents came to visit! Gavin had fun playing with his Grandma and Pop all weekend. Gavin can say "pop" but for some reason he sucks in air when he says it...it's pretty funny if you could hear him. We mostly hung out around the house and my parents helped us do a lot of yard work. My mom planted a few things in my flower pots (for me to kill- just kidding) and they babysat for Gavin Sunday night! Jason and I actually went out on a full out date to celebrate our four year wedding anniversary that was August 27th. Anyway, on with the pictures...

I forgot to mention that before we ate, we went to a winery to do a tour. We got there too late but they let us sample all of the wines. Before they would start our table Jason and I were carded! I glad we still look like young spring chickens. ha!

After dinner we saw the Golden Dragon Acrobats at the St. Augustine Amphitheater.

And we ended the night at the Tini Martini Bar in downtown St. Augustine. We had lots of fun and we are very grateful to my parents for babysitting!

Buds

Gavin has been a busy boy hanging out with his buddies lately. Almost every morning we are at the pool, or Tumbles (his toddler gym class), or a friend's house... He is having a blast hanging out with other tots his age. The picture below is Gavin with Noah and Jack. These three guys are hilarious together...tackling, sharing snacks, throwing fits:-)

A friend from high school (and my mom's best friend's daughter), Perri and her husband (who plays for the Suns) gave us tickets for one of the last home games. We went with three other couples who have kids Gavin's age and they had a great time running around.

Like my hair? Gavin's last haircut was a huge disaster... I knew he would scream, but I didn't know the lady at the barber shop would totally freak out and chop his bangs like a 5 year old would. So, we have been "styling" it different ways with gel!

This boy is officially a walker! He has been taking a few steps on his own for the past few weeks. This weekend he started walking everywhere! He is still a little wobbly but he is so proud of himself!

Mischievous Gav

This sneaky little guy found a way to climb onto my nightstand to destroy our answering machine. He pushed the laundry basket across the room to use it as a ladder:-) Poor Gavin tries to follow his "dada" to work in the morning. Jason had to work in Orlando this past weekend and we got to go with him! Gavin had a blast pushing his car all through the hotel. Sarah came over and spent the day with us Friday. She even babysat Gavin while Jason and I went out to eat! Jason had the brilliant idea of giving Gavin this ice cream bar before we left. What a mess.

Jason was so excited about Gav sleeping on his shoulder because Gavin NEVER lets us hold him while he's sleeping. He fell asleep in the bike carrier an hour before bedtime and we had a tough time waking him up.

Gavin took his first trip to the zoo this weekend. He liked all the animals and loved the carousel even more. He rode it not once, or twice, or three times, but FOUR times. Granted we were stuck under the pavillion because of a rain shower...but he could probably have stayed there all day.

I know it's almost been a month since my last post...but a lot has been going on. After Gavin's birthday we went to Alabama for TWO weeks. We were able to visit lots of friends and family so here are the pictures from our trip.

Gavin was not a happy camper at his Great-Grandmother's house! You bring your own wine and paint a pretty picture! We had a blast and the paintings turned out beautiful!

Gavin and I rode the train at the Monkey Park! He had a good time but was ready to get off by the third time around the park.

Gavin got very sick on Friday, the last weekend we were in AL. His temperature reached 103.5 and he was pitiful! We went to the doctor twice and all they said was to give him motrin and tylenol. He had the hand, foot, mouth virus. Poor baby could barely lift his head he felt so bad. Then, on Monday he broke out in a terrible rash all over his body. I tried to take a picture of him, but this does not do it justice.

Hair did

Today was kind of a sad day for me...Gavin got his first hair cut!!! I almost cried! But Gavin did enough crying for the both of us. He FOR SURE no longer looks like a baby.

Here is the before picture. Everything is fine. He has Baby Einstein playing in front of him. He is sitting in a really cool boat with a steering wheel. The ladies are blowing bubbles and giving him lollypops.

After. He still does not have hair on the sides. So it may look a little crooked here, but he still has a few baby bald spots!

Gavin's 1st birthday is Saturday!!! Jason's sister and husband are flying here from Atlanta to help us celebrate. And then we're leaving on the 13th and we'll be in AL for two weeks!

Spaghetti eating contest

Gavin has finally started learning to chew! Our doctor kept telling us he might need Occupational Therapy to learn to eat solid foods (other than pureed). Say what?? Yes, OT to learn to chew. No thank you.
So far, he is eating saltine crackers, cheerios, banana, avocado, and spaghetti! He drinks from a sippee cup and he REALLY likes drinking from a straw.

Mother's Day weekend

***Update...I added a few more pictures that I forgot about earlier (at the end of this post).

My parents came to visit this weekend and we went to the beach! My dad and Jason rented a surf board and caught some waves. Gavin of course loved the water and the sand...so if baby has fun, then mommy has fun.
My parents left Sunday morning and Jason took care of Gavin all day, washed FOUR loads of laundry, took care of lunch and dinner, and cleaned the kitchen! I got to watch a movie and take a two hour nap and it was great!!! Here are some pictures courtesy of my mom.

As you can see, Gavin is now the proud owner of a $9.99 Target blow-up baby pool. He splashed and splashed until he couldn't splash anymore.

The water was a little cold. But kids don't care, do they?

Yes, that is a pickle. I know, it's probably not very good for him. I'll give him almost anything to keep him occupied while Jason and I try to eat dinner. He is not really eating it- just gnawing...I think it feels good to his gums. Or teeth! Have I mentioned that my roly poly has TWO teeth!?!

The kid can finally crawl

This morning this cute little baby decided to crawl!!! He has been scooting backward for so long! He is still a little confused after he reaches his destination and will crash on his belly and flop like a fish and whine a little bit...but at least he can go after what he wants now!! Maybe he will wear himself out enough to sleep longer than four hours at a time at night? Doubt it.

Easter Sunday.

I can't believe Gavin will be 10 months old in two days! He is a little man baby!!
Last weekend Jason's parents came to visit and Gavin had such a good time. He played and shopped all weekend long:) We took Jason's parents to Whole Foods and I bought some gelato...mmmmm. And when Jason wasn't looking, I let Gavin have a few bites! Of course, like his mommy, he loves ice cream. Now if he could just learn how to chew foods without throwing up or us having to do baby heimlich. He still only eats the pureed baby foods.

Today we went to the beach and Gavin dug in the sand most of the time.

This was taken a few days ago after a nap...he just realized that he can sit up in his crib. Don't worry, we moved the mattress down just in case he learns to pull himself up in the middle of the night.

It seems like yesterday we brought home this tiny little bundle... ...but that was 9 and half months ago!! Now he's ripping apart everything he can find and making his way across every room (backwards).

He has his own little box of kleenex he likes to destroy. He thinks it's pretty funny too.

His Grandma (my mom) bought some bubbles while she was here. He LOVES them! They were a little confusing at first because he could not grab them.

A little organization

This past weekend my parents came back to spend a little more time with their favorite (and only ;)) grandson. My mom stayed a few extra days because she has spring break this week. It was WONDERFUL having her here! A little help during the day every now and then is so nice. I should say a lotta help! She organized my overflowing guest room closet, the hideously unfolded towels in my linen closet, the "where the heck are our important papers" office closet, AND my pantry which looked full until everything was nicely tucked away into place. The woman can organize. If you have a hopeless closet or room, just call Cindy and she'll work her magic (for a nominal fee). :-)
Other than organizing, Gavin had so much fun with his Grandma. After a day or so he didn't have to stare at her for an hour before letting her play with him or pick him up. She took a ton of cute pictures that I'll share later...or when she loads them, haha.

Gavin is having a "whine fest" today! I think it's because of his teeth. I wish he could tell me what is wrong so I could help him be happy! He still likes to party in the middle of the night so I'm sure being sleepy does not help his swollen little gums. His new favorite game is opening and closing his dresser drawers...I don't know why he gets such a kick out of sliding them back and forth but it is hilarious. I wish I were that easily amused.

I know, long time no post...I do have a few a excuses like, Gavin has been running a fever, computer has a virus, my house is a mess... Anyway, I don't have any pictures at the moment. I'm too scared to upload them to this computer right now because it might get sick again.
Not much has happened lately. Gavin is nine months old and wearing 18 month clothing :) We go to the park at least 4 or 5 times a week because he LOVES to swing. When it's time to go he pitches a huge screaming fit! I thought that didn't start until later...? He is still saying "nanana, mamama, dadadada, baababa, lalalala". And sometimes he speaks a language that sounds a lot like Chinese! His nine month appt was last Friday and he screamed the whole time. He does not want to be touched by anyone he doesn't know. The doctor said that was normal so I guess it's fine. I'll try to post some pictures today or tomorrow...I really don't like writing on here even though it IS a blog.

Valentine's Weekend

Jason and I celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday. We went P.F. Changs and to the Cheesecake Factory. YUM! I got the white chocolate caramel macadamia nut cheesecake and it was to die for!! I'm still dreaming about it... Gavin enjoyed eating his squash and banana orange medley while we ate our cheesecake.
Also this weekend, we bought Gavin a new car seat. He officially outgrew the baby carrier. Most normal growing babies can stay in the carrier until they are at least a year. He is so much happier in the car now because he's not all squished into the little seat.

Not much else going on in the Farley house... I wish I had some more interesting stories for you... Although there is something really really bothering me. Friday was hot and I wanted to wear open toed shoes and my toe nails were really ugly. The paint was half way chipped, so I did something I've never done before. I painted OVER the chipped polish. So horrible. Does that bother anyone else? I need to fix them so I'll stop thinking about it.:) (Someone told me I never write anything on here about myself. This is the kind of stuff you're going to get.)

Hi! Just a quick update...Gavin is almost 8 months old!! He is saying "dadadada", "babababa", "blablabla", "nananana", and "tetetete". He screams "mamamama" only when he is crying in his crib. Go figure. He's not crawling yet but trying really hard. I took Gavin swimming at an indoor pool on Wednesday and he LOVED it! He is a little fish! He kicked his feet and slapped the water and squealed! I wish I would have brought my camera. More updates later.

Sick Hubby

So much for my new year's resolution for updating this more often... I do have somewhat of an excuse. Jason has strep throat and Gavin is teething AND not sleeping. Poor baby (Gavin) tries so hard to play and have fun and I can tell that his little gums are bothering him so much! He usually will not chew on his hard toys but latley he has been chomping them as hard as he can. He is closer and closer to crawling every day. He pushes his little rump up in the air and attemps to thrust himself forward...but his big head keeps him in the same spot. And I just laugh...

I've also been without internet for a week. Man, I feel out of touch! I'll keep this short and sweet and post a few pics of Gavin. That's what most people would rather see:)

Happy New Year! I'm a horrible blogger... Sorry. I'm sad that Christmas is over! We had so much fun in Opelika and Cullman. But boy, were we ready to get back home. Nine days is a long time away from home with a baby. Before we drove back to Alabama, Gavin was sleeping 12 hours at night! It was wonderful. Now he's waking up again every 3 or 4 hours. Ugh. It will take him 3 or 4 weeks to get back to normal.
I'm really glad to be back in Jacksonville. But I miss my family already. Gavin did pretty well around everybody considering he is usually just with me all the time. We are going to try out My Gym next week so he can see what it's like to be around other babies. My Gym has baby fitness classes. The only problem is it is right in the middle of his morning nap time. Hopefully he can adjust and enjoy himself!

We took Gavin to see some Christmas trees (because we're not putting one up this year). He loved seeing all the lights and decorations!

Gavin is 6 months old!! These first 6 months have flown by! Sad! The horrible cold he had two weeks ago FINALLY went away. He is still coughing a little...but at least he can breathe. Thanksgiving was great. Both of our families got to spend time with Gavin and he had so much fun!

After Gavin's bath, we slick his hair down. When he wakes up in the morning it sticks straight up. Everyone asks us why or how we get his hair to do that. It's not our fault! I love his hair!

Sick baby

Poor Gavin is sick! He woke up last Wednesday night coughing and crying. :( I took him to the doctor on Thursday to find out he just has a cold...but today is Monday and he still does not seem better. His poor little eyes are so red and his nose just runs all day long. He does not have a fever for the first time today so maybe that's a good sign. I'll be really upset if we don't get to go home for Thanksgiving!
On a lighter note, he plays and laughs all day long! He loves to be tickled! He is 5 months and two weeks old and he wears 9 month clothing. He is huge for his age. Jason and I took him to the mall a few days ago to find a toboggan...we had to buy a toddler size hat because his head is so big! But he is so cute! Playing with my toys!

Do you like my hair? Sucking my thumb...and wearing daddy's toboggan. I love to play with tuperware!

Back in Alabama

Gavin did okay during his first 7 1/2 hour ride home! We had to stop many times there and back, but we finally made it! I was so happy to see all of our friends. Gavin loved playing with his grandma and poppy all weekend. He got to see both great-grandmothers and lots of friends.

He is getting the hang of eating his rice cereal...he refused to eat it when we were in Opelika. This weekend we are trying squash, YUM! I hope he likes it!

Yay, Gavin sleeps!

The boy sleeps! He sleeps great at night, just not during the day for naptime. The first night of our "cry it out" method was not so fun...but the next night he slept for eight hours straight! Usually he goes to bed around 9:00 and wakes at 4:00 or 5:00 and sleeps again until 9:00. My brain works a ton better when I sleep for more than two hours at a time:)
As you can see from the picture above he loves his toes. Today he discovered that toes are also fun to eat!
We are coming to Opelika this weekend and I can't wait to see everyone. I am driving with Gavin by myself on the way up Thursday morning. I hope he can handle the 6 hour drive. I'm sure we'll be stopping quite a bit. Here are a few pictures from the last two weeks. I can't believe he is already 4 months old!

I need sleep

This will be short because Gavin just went down for a nap...and I am about to do the same. The kid does not sleep! Nights are just getting worse! I hate to try the Ferber method (cry it out) but we are finally trying it tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

Other than that, Gavin is doing GREAT! He is in 6-9 month clothing and he's only 3.5 months old. My mom keeps saying that he's going through a growth spurt and he's waking up at night to eat. If that is the case, his growth spurt started the day he was born and has not stopped. He eats like a Man Baby. Here are a few pictures that we took over the weekend.

Bathtime

It's been almost a month since I have updated this thing...sorry! We have had lots of visitors lately and Gavin does not nap well during the day.
Here are a few pictures of Gavin after his bath. He loves the water. Hopefully that will be the case next summer because we'll be at the pool or beach all the time! The only thing he does not like in the tub is having his stinky neck washed. It's hard getting inbetween those fat rolls! He screams for a minute and then stops after he is rinsed.

He is so silly in the mornings after he wakes up.

He loves tummy time more and more each day. Some days he figures out how to roll over and he will do that over and over. I have a video of him rolling over that I'll post later. The past few weeks all he wants to do is eat his hands. We have tried giving him a pacifier, but he just wants to chew on things. He is not sleeping well either...all the parents that have told me they swear by the Baby Wise book must be lucky. I have followed the pattern in the book and it does not work for Gavin! He is waking up every 3 to 4 hours. Oh well, one day I'll get some sleep...

And by the way, there was another snake in the house. Well, in the garage. It looked like the same one that got into the house...Hmmm. If it was, then he's not coming back because Jason killed it. Ahhh!

2 months old

Last Sunday was Gavin's baby dedication at church. He looked so cute in his outfit!
I am still trying to find a cute background for our blog. I don't have much time to look so it will probably be a while!
Gavin is nine weeks old and still in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Last Wednesday he had his shots at the doctor... :( Of course he screamed and I made Jason hold him while the nurse poked him. He weighed 13.5 lbs and was 24.5 inches long. He is really smiling a lot now and cooing a little more everyday. He fights nap time and still nurses every 2 hours. I've tried stretching the time but he just isn't having it.
Other exciting news besides baby news is that a SNAKE slithered his way into our house last week. Jason decided to go for a run and we think he got in when the front door opened. Jason was half a mile down the road when I discovered it. So, I yelled for the neighbors accross the street to come help. Lucky for me they were nice enough to come over and catch it. I was nervous that it would disappear in the house and crawl on us in our sleep!

A lady from church is a wedding photographer and she offered to take pictures of
Gavin. There were some really cute ones!

Hello! This blog will mostly be all about Gavin since he is now the king of the house. We will try to keep you updated with stories and pictures of our family.
Gavin is now 6 weeks old. He weighs in at a hefty 11 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches long. He is in the 95th percentile of babies his age in height and weight. God has blessed us with a cute and healthy baby. We never imaged he would be this perfect!

I will update as often as I can between feeding Gavin, changing diapers, and catching up on my sleep. I will post a few pictures of my little sweet pea!
